Guatemalan-Chinese Fashion Designer Anna Fong’s talent, creativity and name is quickly becoming a sensation in celebrity circles and is among the young rising stars of new designers destined for international stardom.

Carol Pineiro

Carol Piñeiro, native of Puerto Rico, has nurtured her designer’s heart since the age of 11. Design studies include, Liceo Art & Technology in Puerto Rico, F.I.T. in New York, and ultimately, receiving her degree in Fashion Design at the International Academy of Design & Technology in Chicago. She interned with the renowned designer, James De Colón for 3 years and has participated in several fashion shows throughout her career; including, Telemundo’s fashion show at the Auto Show, and the 1st annual Chicago Latino Fashion Show in 2007.

Elda De La Rosa

Elda De La Rosa is well known in Chicago for her beautiful handmade creations. She personally works with each client from first sketches to fabric selection, muslin and fitting process to the final customized garment. Elda creates elegant outfits for all occasions, specializing in Cocktail, Evening, Bridal and Commitment Ceremony ensembles. Elda De La Rosa creates striking, intricate designs that have a powerful presence and an extraordinary flow. Each of her dresses has it's own individual personality, and reflect the bold beauty and style of the women who wear them.

Felix Poll

Felix Poll was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico and spent most of his childhood in his hometown watching his grandmother hand sew gloves for different clients in order to make a living.  In 1994, he moved to LA to study fashion at Brooks College where he volunteered in the CA Garment District. In 1996, he returned to PR and completed an AA in Arts and Fashion Design at the Catholic University of Puerto Rico that helped him get a job teaching in a local Fashion Institute. While teaching, Poll decided to work on his own label as a conceptual platform first, with visions of a future business and fashion line. A contagious mix of his last name and family nickname became the label and a lifetime passion that bore POLL & FLOX.

James De Colon

Chicago-based couturier James De Colón is a native New Yorker with strong ties to his homeland San Juan, Puerto Rico.  De Colón and partner, Creative Director-Wayne Reddrick, have been an integral part of the Chicago fashion community for the last ten years.  They have operated two successful boutiques in the inner city; and are now in preparation to launch the online boutique, DE COLÓN.

Jorge Del Busto

Jorge del Busto was born and raised in Buenos Airies, Argentina. Jorge's first muse was his grandmother, an accomplished artist and socialite, who inspired Jorge's passion to draw and design. He started attending the artist school at the age of six years old. At the age of 12, he began doing his first drawings of fashion designs. When Jorge turned 25, he moved to the United States to pursue his dream. He quickly integrated himself into the social scene in Chicago and Los Angeles and made a name for himself as a life style coach and image consultant. In 2003, Jorge created his active wear line and the first fitness fragrance called "Energy Up" by Jorge del Busto. Jorge launched his first collection of evening gowns and sport elegant designs in 2008.

Jorge Ortega

In 2008 Jorge Ortega opened Tinta Roja Projects, LLC, an arts/media shop based in Chicago and Barranquilla, Colombia to lead the Urban Interdisciplinary Arts scene in the Americas.

Soledad Designs

Our Story

Carla Soledad Rivera founded Soledad Designs as a sole proprietorship, with a focus of creating custom jackets and corsets for private clients in Chicago and Bangkok.  In 2006, Soledad Designs launched its first ready to wear collection for women and men and was showcased at the ALMA fashion show during Chicago’s Fashion Week.  That same year, Soledad Designs began carrying their line in boutiques in New York and Chicago.  In 2008, fellow designer, dance partner and long time friend, Freddie Rocha joined Carla S. Rivera, to form Soledad Designs, LLC.

Susie Garcia

Susie Garcia of Mexican descent was born in the Southeast side of Chicago.  Since a child she has immersed herself in the arts in any way, shape or form, such as illustration, painting, dance, and jewelry design.  It was at age 14 when she began reconstructing her own garments.  During her senior year in high school, she had her first full production fashion show.  It was then when she realized the potential she had to turn her talent into a career.  With encouragement from family, friends, and instructors, she enrolled at the International Academy of Design and Technology.

Tommie Hernández

Tommie Hernandez, F.I.T., graduate, got a bachelor’s degree in architecture before deciding to study her hobby since she was a kid: fashion design. After interning at renowned Irish designer Daryl K’s studio in SoHo, she returned to Puerto Rico eight years ago, and since then established her line of swimwear, inspired in the beautiful beaches of her sunny island: Puerto Rico.

Wanda Cobar

Wanda Janice Cobar was born and raised in Chicago. Her passion for fashion sparked when an unexpected knee surgery left her bed-ridden for 6 months and all she can do was look thru Fashion magazines to make time pass. She was greatly inspired by Gianni Versace's ads and knew that she would then base her life around fashion. Already having an art background from elementary school and studying drafting in High School it only made sense that these skills would help her at William Rainey Harper College where she took 2 years of fashion design in 1996.
